NBA Fans Are Saying the Same Thing About ESPN Host’s Viral Take on Bronny James

Despite the subpar shooting of LeBron James and Luka Doncic, the Los Angeles Lakers did enough in the closing minutes to beat the Houston Rockets, 104-98, on Monday.

James and Doncic combined for 36 points on 11-of-28 accuracy from the field. Fortunately, Gabe Vincent and Dorian Finney-Smith stepped up. They combined for 40 points on 12 three-pointers to help the Lakers improve to 46-29.

Bronny James, meanwhile, didn't see action as JJ Redick stuck to his usual 10-man rotation.

ESPN host Michael Wilbon recently went viral for his opinion regarding his network's coverage of the Lakers rookie, saying everything's mostly for "clicks."

"There were shows that talked about Bronny every day," said Wilbon in an interview with OutKick as shared by NBA Central on X. "You know what shows I'm talking about. I don't care if my bosses get mad.

"They would try to get Tony (Kornheiser) and me to talk about it. No, we were not going to do it. They talked about him (Bronny James) more than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That's pandering. It's all pandering."

Many NBA fans agreed with Wilbon, who's known for his work on ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" alongside Kornheiser.

"The utmost respect for calling like it is. The Bronny obsession is manufactured by ESPN, not by LeBron," said a fan.

"PTI is one of the only shows left that even seems like sports news," commented a fan.

"Finally, a sound mind," said another fan.

"Wilbon is spitting facts here...for a change," observed a fan.

NBA Central's post has 4.3 million views, as of writing.

ESPN has been called out several times for its coverage of Bronny James, who has only played 23 games this season.

For what it's worth, the 20-year-old guard has been doing well with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 11 games.
