Paul Merson and Chris Sutton predict the score for Leicester vs Manchester City

Leicester City return to Premier League action on Wednesday evening as they make the trip up north to take on reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have suffered seven straight defeats without scoring and reside nine points adrift of the bottom three.

Ordinarily, this fixture would be seen as a bit of a free hit, but Leicester simply need wins at this point, otherwise, their fate will be sealed weeks before the end of the season.

Ricardo Pereira could be back fit for the Man City game and there is an outside chance of 15-year-old wonderkid Jeremy Monga making the bench after training with the first team during the international break.

That gives Leicester a glimmer of hope and with that said, Paul Merson and Chris Sutton have just issued their score prediction.

Paul Merson predicts Man City to beat Leicester

Leicester are evidently massive underdogs heading into the away clash at the Etihad Stadium and Merson doesn’t expect them to upset the applecart.

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Merson predicted a thumping win for Pep Guardiola’s side.

“4-0 Manchester City! Leicester are letting goals in for fun and have never looked like winning a football match recently.

“I don’t see anything but a City win. Pep Guardiola’s men need to qualify for the Champions League next season, finishing outside the top four will be a huge disappointment.”

Chris Sutton also expects Man City win

Unfortunately for Leicester supporters, Chris Sutton doesn’t see it going any differently for the relegation-threatened Foxes.

“It is exactly the fixture they would want after their FA Cup win at Bournemouth, when Pep Guardiola was speaking about his players showing heart and soul, and the desire and passion that they need,” Sutton wrote on the BBC Sport website.

“The way he was talking shows how much winning the FA Cup means to him, but does it mean they are back on track? I am not sure, and I don’t think this game will tell us much either because they should blow Leicester away even if they are nowhere near their best.

“Leicester have not scored a league goal since the end of January, and I don’t see that changing at Etihad Stadium. They are at the stage where their fans cheer a corner, let alone a shot at goal – that’s desperate, and that’s where Leicester are at.

“From what Pep was saying, he knows how important this game is for their run-in, as Manchester City look to secure Champions League football next season. I don’t think there is any chance they will slip up.”

Sutton one-upped Merson and predicted Man City to win 5-0.
