Rutgers Basketball Guard Dylan Harper will enter the NBA draft after playing just one season at Rutgers.
His choice to enter the NBA draft was not unexpected as he was one of the most productive players in the Big Ten. During his one season at Rutgers, Harper made his way onto the Big Ten all-freshman team, was an honorable mention for the all-Big Ten coaches teams, and was on the all-big ten third team selected by the media. He also earned a bunch of other honors, such as Big Ten Player of the Week and the Naismith National Player of the week award.
Last season, the Franklin Lakes native broke the freshman scoring record while only having played in 28 games. In that year, he averaged 19.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.4 steals. He shot 48.7% from the floor and 34.5% from three.
Harper is predicted to go early in the first round, with several draft analysts having him in the top five. His co-star Ace Bailey is expected to declare for the draft as well.
Harper is expected to be the first Rutgers basketball player to be drafted since 2010, when Hamady N’Diaye was selected by the Washington Wizards with the 56th overall pick.
