Our round-up of how the Chelsea players out on loan have fared over the last month features a dramatic first goal in Serie A as well as debuts on both sides of the Atlantic...
The forward netted his first goal since joining AC Milan in January to spark an impressive comeback away at Lecce in Serie A.
Two goals behind with less than an hour on the clock, Milan's fightback began when [Joao Felix](/en/teams/profile/joao-felix)’s shot was diverted into his own net by Antonino Gall. A brace from former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic followed to seal a 3-2 victory for the Rossoneri.
The Portugal international came off the bench to contribute to another come-from-behind win the following week, a 2-1 win at Como. However, a loss to Napoli last time out means Milan remain five points from European qualification.
Renato Veiga – Juventus
-----------------------
The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes at centre-back as Juventus responded from a painful 3-0 loss to rivals Fiorentina to beat Genoa 1-0 at home. The win keeps them in the top five in Serie A and one point from a Champions League place.
Djordje Petrovic and Andrey Santos – Strasbourg
-----------------------------------------------
Our Ligue 1 duo helped Strasbourg to three league wins in a row, as they close on the European qualification places.
Petrovic kept his eighth clean sheet of the season in a narrow 1-0 win at Nantes before [Andrey Santos](/en/teams/profile/andrey-santos), captaining the side, struck in back-to-back victories over Toulouse and Lyon to take his tally to nine goals in the league.
Victory over Lyon last weekend took Strasbourg above their opponents in the table and into a UEFA Conference League place. They are one point off the Europa League and three from the Champions League positions.
Carney Chukwuemeka – Borussia Dortmund
--------------------------------------
Chukwuemeka helped Dortmund bounce straight back from defeat to Leipzig by coming off the bench in a 3-1 home win over high-flying Mainz. That result takes BVB within four points of European qualification in the Bundesliga table.
Dortmund remain in contention in Europe this season, too, as Chukwuemeka made another substitute appearance in a 3-1 win over Lille, which secured the German club's place in the Champions League quarter-finals
Deivid Washington – Santos
--------------------------
Our Brazilian striker made his Santos debut as a late substitute in their Campeonato Paulista semi-final, although it was too late to make an impact with his side 2-1 down to Corinthians in a match they would finish with nine men after two red cards.
It was a similar story when he came on for the last 20 minutes of Santos’ opening Serie A fixture, unable to prevent a 2-1 loss away at Vasco da Gama.
Closer to home, Wiley made his Watford debut after swapping Strasbourg for the Championship in January, coming off the bench in a 2-1 loss to Millwall.
A further substitute appearance followed in a 1-0 victory over Swansea City before the U.S. international made his first start for the Hornets at left-back in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Plymouth Argyle.
Alex Matos – Oxford United
--------------------------
The midfielder has featured in all four of Oxford’s most recent matches, as he continues his trend of missing just one game since joining the club in January.
Although there were defeats to Hull City and Middlesbrough, a draw at Norwich City followed by a 1-0 home win over Watford keeps Oxford four points clear of the Championship relegation zone.
There was a return to the Sheffield United match-day squad for Gilchrist against Frank Lampard's Coventry City at the weekend, and the 21-year-old was introduced late on to help the Blades secure a 3-1 victory that keeps them top of the Championship.
Bashir Humphreys - Burnley
--------------------------
The 22-year-old did not feature for the Clarets in March as he is currently sidelined with an injury.
Zak Sturge – Millwall
---------------------
Sturge made his second appearance for Millwall since joining the Championship club in the January transfer window, coming on in an attacking role late on as they chased an equaliser against high-flying Sunderland. He was unable to prevent a 1-0 loss.
Teddy Sharman-Lowe – Doncaster Rovers
-------------------------------------
After back-to-back draws with Swindon Town and Crewe Alexandra – the latter partly thanks to a series of important saves from the young goalkeeper – Sharman-Lowe helped Doncaster keep up the pressure in the promotion race with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Carlisle United last time out.
That leaves them in a prime position for a play-off spot, but also one point off automatic promotion having played a game less than the top three.
It was also a positive international break for Sharman-Lowe, as he made his debut for England Under-21s in a 4-2 win over Portugal.
Dylan Williams – Burton Albion
------------------------------
The full-back returned to action with Burton Albion as he came on as a late substitute in their last match, a 2-1 defeat to Stockport County in League One. They currently sit six points from safety in the table, but have a game in hand over those above them.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan – Gillingham
-----------------------------
Having scored his first Gillingham goal at the start of March, Morgan helped his side go four games unbeaten in League Two, easing them clear of the relegation fight.
After a 1-0 success over Bradford City, the striker was agonisingly close to a late winner against Walsall to make it back-to-back home victories. But in the end, the Gills had to settle for a point, which was sandwiched between further draws away at Accrington and Harrogate.
Max Merrick – Hampton & Richmond
--------------------------------
Merrick was unable to halt Hampton & Richmond’s run of six consecutive loss in the National League South, although the goalkeeper missed two of those games while on international duty with England Under-20s.
Axel Disasi – Aston Villa
-------------------------
Disasi was unable to feature in the FA Cup as Aston Villa reached a Wembley semi-final, having previously appeared for Chelsea in this season’s competition. However, the French defender did celebrate his first Premier League win with the club and secured a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Frenchman featured throughout to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Brentford, making several key tackles as they held on for the three points and being named man of the match. That came aafter two draws and a defeat in his first three league games.
Disasi also played in both legs of a comfortable European win over Club Brugge, starting the 3-1 win in Belgium and then coming on in a 3-0 victory at Villa Park.
Raheem Sterling – Arsenal
-------------------------
Although domestic action has been limited over the last month, Sterling did help Arsenal book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. After coming off the bench in their 7-1 thrashing of PSV Eindhoven, the winger started in the second leg of the last-16 tie.
He set up both goals in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium, teeing up Oleksandr Zinchenko to curl in the first before providing the cross for Declan Rice’s headed second.
Armando Broja – Everton
-----------------------
The striker made his return after two months out with an ankle injury, coming on for the last 10 minutes of Everton’s home Premier League match against West Ham United, as they secured a point with an injury-time equaliser.
The Academy graduate then came on at Wembley Stadium for Albania during the 2-0 defeat to England before starting and assisting in the 3-0 win versus Andorra.
Ben Chilwell – Crystal Palace
-----------------------------
Chilwell was eligible to feature in the FA Cup, but remained on the bench for their 3-0 quarter-final victory over Fulham, although it does set up a potential clash with Disasi’s Aston Villa at Wembley in the semis on 26 April.
The left-back did feature in Crystal Palace’s only Premier League fixture over the last month, though, coming on in a 1-0 home win over Ipswich Town
Kepa Arrizabalaga – Bournemouth
-------------------------------
A difficult month for Bournemouth and Kepa saw them eliminated from the FA Cup by a quarter-final defeat to Manchester City, despite the Spaniard saving an Erling Haaland penalty.
They also slipped down the Premier League table following a home defeat to Brentford and 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, meaning they now sit four points off the guaranteed European qualification spots.
Lesley Ugochukwu – Southampton
------------------------------
Ugochuwku remains a regular in Southampton’s midfield, but the tough campaign for the newly promoted Premier League side continued, as back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers has left them at the bottom of the standings.
