Arne Slot Liverpool manager

Liverpool are comfortably sitting at the top of the Premier League and they will look to further consolidate that position when they welcome a buoyant Everton side in midweek.
The Reds are enjoying a 12-point lead at the top of the table and are currently undefeated in their previous 25 league matches. However, they haven’t had the best of times in recent weeks because they were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG and then lost the EFL Cup final to Newcastle United.
Liverpool only have the Premier League to look forward to for the remainder of this season and while they are very much the favourites to beat Everton on Wednesday night, the Toffees will want to make life difficult for Arne Slot’s boys. Everton have been in very consistent form since David Moyes took charge and going into the derby, the Toffees are unbeaten in their previous nine league matches.
Honestly, we do expect Liverpool to stumble on their home turf but the way Everton have been playing under Moyes, it won’t be a surprise if they were to come out of Anfield with a point.
Liverpool’s team news and injuries:
In defence, Arne Slot has a few injury concerns and the main problematic area is the right-back position where Trent Alexander-Arnold is ruled out for the next couple of weeks with an ankle injury.
The good news is that Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez have both started training during the international break but this midweek’s game might come too early for either one of them. If Bradley or Gomez aren’t ready then Jarell Quansah will have to deputise at right-back for Liverpool.
Slot said in his pre-match press conference: “Conor Bradley is training with us again but we have to make a decision on if he is playing. And if playing means coming in or starting – that is something I keep for myself.
“He has only had a few sessions after being out for quite long with repetitive injuries. So we have to make a smart decision with that.”
Alisson picked up a head injury while playing for Brazil but the keeper will be available to play in midweek.
Ryan Gravenberch returned early from international duty due to fitness concerns but the Liverpool midfielder is up and running and should feature in the starting XI.
The Liverpool manager added: “Ryan Gravenberch is okay, though we have to train one more time. Alisson trains with us as well. The last check has to happen today, to see if he is available to play.”

Darwin Nunez has been massively underwhelming this season and there’s a big chance that Arne Slot will opt to use Luis Diaz as his primary centre-forward. Diaz did not have a great EFL final but the 28-year-old has still managed to make 13 goal contributions in 28 PL appearances.
Chiesa scored a rare goal for Liverpool in that final but the Italian has turned out to be a major flop and will sit on the bench once again.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Everton:
Goalkeeper: Alisson
Defenders: Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Bradley/Quansah, Robertson
Midfielders: Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister
Attackers: Mo Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo.
