Man City boss Pep Guardiola shares what he's noticed about Leicester City lately

Leicester City travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening to take on Manchester City.

The Foxes are in desperate need of a win as they reside nine points adrift from 17th-placed Wolves, who are the only realistic side they can catch.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side will be the big underdogs but at least Ricardo Pereira is expected to be available after returning from injury.

Pereira’s inclusion would give Leicester a better chance of keeping the ball, which would allow playmaker Bilal El Khannouss more opportunities to create a moment of magic.

The new 5-3-2 formation that Van Nistelrooy has implemented lately has made them a little more solid and speaking ahead of Wednesday’s game, Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on City’s performances.

The Spaniard has been impressed by Van Nistelrooy’s side over the last few weeks and has noticed some new patterns of play to be wary of.

“But I know how tough Leicester City are,” Guardiola explained.

“I’m impressed by the way they play the last two games, they play really well against Chelsea and Aston Villa they played really good.

“In different ways, they’re using new patterns and they did really well, they are a concern and we need them (the fans) desperately to achieve our success to be in the Champions League again.”
