Superstar Rob Gronkowski is one of the greatest tight ends to ever play football. He’s also one of the most colorful personalities to ever suit up in the NFL.

Leave it to Gronk to talk about checking out guys’ packages in the showers.

On a recent episode of his “Dudes On Dudes” podcast with former New England Patriots teammate Julian Edelman, Gronkowski shared a story from when his brother, fellow tight end Dan Gronkowski, joined the team for about eight weeks in 2011. That season happened to be Gronk’s best in the NFL.

Gronk remembered a story about something seemingly memorable happening between Edelman and his brother, Dan.

For Dan’s part, he couldn’t think of what his brother was talking about. But Gronk remembered.

“When Julian looked at you in the shower and said that you have a way bigger piece than me,” the future Hall of Famer reminded his brother.

Then Dan revealed why it wasn’t super memorable for him.

“I heard that a lot from a lot of people.”

Edelman also shared that Gronk was notorious for looking at his teammate’s package at the urinals and commenting on it.

“Wow Jules your piece looks big today actually,” Edelman remembered hearing from his 6-foot-6 teammate towering over the privacy partition.

Yes, straight guys check out each other’s packages in the locker room, the showers, and seemingly even at the urinal. It’s kind of like some of them are obsessed.

One of the idiotic issues with gay teammates in the locker room we’ve heard over the years is that maybe the gay guy will “look at” a teammate in the shower. Gronkowski previously told Outsports he’d be “cool” with a gay teammate.

But it’s the straight guys who seemingly can’t get enough. In fact, straight guys check each other out so much, the size of their package actually correlates to an interesting hierarchy in the locker room.

Former NFL player Esera Tuaolo has talked about how lingering his gaze on another guy’s package was the last thing he’d do in the locker room, lest his teammates think he might be gay.

Rob Gronkowski is third all time in NFL touchdowns by a tight end, behind only Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez. But he blows everyone out of the water with his points per game: an incredible 3.9. If he played as long as those other two guys, he’d have a touchdown record that would be tough to break.

He also won four Super Bowls catching said touchdowns from Tom Brady.

A few years ago, Brady talked publicy about seeing other guy’s packages, and he said Gronk’s is “Amazing.”

We can only imagine his brother Dan’s.
