Barrios is 21 years old and fits perfectly in Chelsea’s hiring criteria. Just like Enzo Fernandez, he can play as both central and holding midfielder. Hence, the Blues can view this as a like for like replacement. But, the deal will also depend on players.

As of now, Fernandez has interest from plenty other clubs. He said that he likes London and wants to stay there. He has contract with Chelsea running until 2032 and hence he can turn down the offer from Atletico once again.

Barrios has came up through Atletico’s academy. He too has interest from other clubs who are open to spend big on him. Atletico can bag a hefty profit which they can use on signing other players.
