Nottingham Forest boss Nuno names team to face Man United in key Premier League clash

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Manchester United in tonight’s Premier League clash.

The Reds go into their midweek game in high spirits after booking their place in the FA Cup semi-finals at the weekend. They saw off Brighton and Hove Albion on penalties on the south coast to set up a last-four meeting with Manchester City at Wembley next month.

But Forest are well aware they cannot think about that trip to the capital just yet as they still have a big job to do in the league, and it starts this evening. Clinching Champions League qualification is the considerable carrot dangling in front of Nuno’s men as they approach the final nine games of the league campaign.

Back-to-back wins over Manchester City and Ipswich Town prior to the international break consolidated the third-placed Reds’ position in the table. Now they just need to get over the line.

It was a quick turnaround from Saturday’s tie to this evening, and a number of players played 120 minutes at the Amex Stadium as the quarter-final went to extra-time. Nuno has made one change to his XI from the weekend, with Anthony Elanga in for Nicolas Dominguez.

Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Neco Williams will once again make up the back line ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. Ryan Yates and Danilo look set to make up the midfield.

With no Callum Hudson-Odoi in the squad, it seems likely Elliot Anderson will start on the left flank if Nuno sticks with his usual 4-2-3-1 formation. Morgan Gibbs-White and Anthony Elanga will make up the rest of the attack in support of striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
