Andrey Santos has given an update on his future and shared whether he thinks he is actually ready to play for Chelsea.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Strasbourg, where he is absolutely thriving. In 27 appearances, Santos has managed to score 10 goals.
As a result, Santos is now attracting interest from PSG and some of Europe’s other top clubs.
Of course, the Premier League is a completely different animal compared to Ligue 1. Even so, Santos does not seem fazed by English football’s top division.

Andrey Santos ready to play for Chelsea
Santos’ first stint in the Premier League did not go to plan, with the Brazilian making just one appearance at Nottingham Forest last season before his loan there was cut short.
However, since then, Santos has developed into a fine midfielder at Strasbourg and now looks ready to give the Premier League another go.
“Am I ready for Chelsea? Yes,” the Brazil international said in an interview conducted by Gianlucadimarzio.com.
Santos then gave an update on his future, stating that his agent and Chelsea will hold discussions about it once the campaign concludes.

“The two clubs and my agent will discuss it at the end of the season,” Santos shared. “For the moment, the focus is on Strasbourg, with seven games left. Our goal is to finish as high as possible. But we must remain united, qualifying for the Champions League would be a great achievement for us and for our fans.”
It has been claimed that Chelsea could sell Santos for £29m this summer, but that would be a big surprise.
Given that Enzo Maresca already has Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia, you probably cannot rule out a sale. Santos is going to want guarantees ahead of the 2025/26 season.
But after his performances for Strasbourg, Chelsea are going to value him much higher than £29m.

Andrey Santos’ idol
Had Santos stayed at Chelsea last season, he would have got to play alongside Thiago Silva, an idol of his.
“Thiago Silva was very important for my career,” Santos said in the same interview on Gianlucadimarzio.com. “We did the pre-season together, I visited his house and we ate at his place. I watched him to see how he prepared for the match and steal something from him in terms of nutrition. I think that in today’s football the details are fundamental.”
The Blues could probably do with Silva now, with their defence lacking both experience and leadership.
Chelsea could sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, though, to try and correct that. If they add the England international, Santos and a new striker to their squad, that would not be a bad transfer window.
