Retired NFL star Richard Sherman says his house in Washington was ransacked by armed robbers while his family was home over the weekend, as his wife Ashley Moss confirmed she and the kids "are physically OK."

The former Seattle Seahawks defensive back, 37, posted screenshots and video on Monday, March 31 of surveillance footage from his home, showing at least three men armed with weapons entering and exiting the home with bags that appeared to be full.

“House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift,” Sherman wrote in a post on X.com. “Scary situation that my Wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people please reach out.”

Sherman replied to his own post with a video of the three apparent robbers jumping out of a broken window at his house, writing: “Another Video if anyone recognizes them or has any info please reach out.”

The retired NFL player-turned-television analyst replied to several X users who reached out with information and input about the alleged break-in, writing that the men “went through the back yard and neighbors fence” in order to reach his house.

Sherman turned 37 years old on Sunday, one day after the alleged robbery took place.

“Very shaken up and hope to find these people soon,” Moss, Sherman's wife wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories on Monday, adding, "the kids and I are physically OK.”

“Waking up to [intruders] outside your bedroom with a gun is something no one should have to experience," Moss added. "Like I said they tried the wrong people! We WILL find you!”

Moss then shared the same video Sherman shared, showing three men allegedly escaping out of their home through a window carrying several bags. “This is what a coward looks like!” Moss wrote. “If this is your family, friend, brother, etc.. do the right thing.”

It’s unclear what was stolen from Sherman’s home.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office for more information about the investigation, which remains open, according to reports by ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News.

The alleged burglary comes amid a growing list of professional athletes who have had their homes broken into in recent months, including NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow among others. Federal authorities announced last month that seven Chilean nationals suspected of being part of a "South American Theft Group" were charged with the multi-million dollar thefts at the homes of Kelce, Mahomes, and other athletes.
