The Milwaukee Bucks are 40-34 and the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. With the Bucks on the verge of potentially being a first-round exit for the third consecutive season, Milwaukee could be faced with some daunting decisions this NBA offseason.

One of the biggest questions that will be floated around is will the Bucks trade superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to another NBA team or not. Antetokounmpo will have another few years remaining on his contract. He is 30 years old. During the 2024-2025 NBA season, he is averaging 30.2 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 5.9 APG, and is shooting 60.1% from the field.
New York Post Reports That the Brooklyn Nets are Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Wish List

The Nets are 25-51 in the NBA during the 2024-2025 season and they will be heading toward the NBA Draft lottery in 2025. However, after Brooklyn defeated the Dallas Mavericks 113-109 on the road on Monday night, The New York Post reporter Brian Lewis dropped an interesting report about the Nets future plans and said,
“Multiple league personnel that have spoken with The Post say Giannis Antetokounmpo has been and remains Plan A for the Nets.”
It is interesting that a rebuilding team wants the star player. In the past Brooklyn has not been scared about trading draft capital for star players like Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett. The Nets have not won an NBA title when they have done that, but Brooklyn is never afraid to take swings.
The thing is that would Antetokounmpo want to leave the Bucks for the Nets? Well, Brooklyn has something that Milwaukee is lacking big time: draft capital. If Milwaukee wants to start a rebuild after the 2024-2025 NBA season, Brooklyn might be the perfect trade partner. Another team that could be the ideal partner for Milwaukee is the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Lewis thinks that if Brooklyn would go get Antetokounmpo, it would be because of his talent and not necessarily to speed up the rebuild. He also said,
“If Antetokounmpo gets traded elsewhere this summer, that may make GM Sean Marks’ path simple, tanking for another year and building through the lottery, But what happens if the two-time MVP is in Milwaukee past the June draft, when Marks usually makes his biggest moves? Are potential lesser targets like Ja Morant, Domantas Sabonis, Trae Young or LaMelo Ball worth emptying the proverbial clip for if it means abandoning all hope for the Greek Freak?”
The goal for the Nets is to acquire the Bucks superstar. There will be other NBA title contenders like the New York Knicks, the Thunder, or the Miami Heat that could make a splash for Antetokounmpo. It remains to be seen if Brooklyn will take another swing for the fences for a superstar. The Nets maybe better of focusing on the long-term rebuild instead of trading Antetokounmpo and risking a potential speed up in the rebuild also.
