There is one Liverpool player who Arne Slot simply cannot risk starting against Everton this week - opinion

Liverpool are back in Premier League action against Everton on Wednesday night.

The Reds host their city rivals at Anfield as David Moyes’ side are the next opponent in the way of Arne Slot’s team and their push for the Premier League title.

Liverpool currently have a 12-point lead over Arsenal in the standings and having endured a tough week before the international break, the Reds will want to get back to winning ways and get the title wrapped up as soon as possible.

Slot is still not happy with the events of the last Merseyside derby and is aware of the physical threat Everton will pose on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have had their injury concerns heading into this week’s game and there is one star Slot simply cannot take a risk with.

Arne Slot to make late call on Conor Bradley for Everton clash

Over the last two weeks, Alisson picked up a fitness injury whilst away with Brazil and Ryan Gravenberch left the Netherlands camp early with an injury concern of his own.

Slot told the press on Tuesday that both players will be available to play Everton, however, there are concerns over one star, Conor Bradley, who Liverpool will make a late call on.

Bradley has been training alone this week, which is not a positive sign ahead of a game just a few days later.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold still out injured and with no official return date, Slot needs to be very careful with what he decides to do with Bradley on Wednesday night.

The Northern Ireland star could be key to wrapping up the Premier League for Liverpool throughout the remainder of the season and it could also affect the 2025/26 campaign.

Conor Bradley cannot be risked by Liverpool vs Everton

Out of all the Liverpool stars with fitness concerns, Bradley is the one who cannot be risked, as it could leave the Reds without a right-back for the rest of the season as no one knows for certain when Alexander-Arnold will be back.

Jarell Quansah is more than capable of playing the role, but should Bradley reinjure himself against Everton, it is not an ideal situation for Slot to be in with the Premier League title yet to be wrapped up.

In addition to this, the rest of the season gives Slot the chance to give Bradley a run of games ahead of next season as Alexander-Arnold is set to join Real Madrid during the summer.

This would give the 21-year-old some confidence before taking over the starting role at right-back and all this would be compromised should the youngster suffer a setback against Everton.
