Luka Doncic Joins Kobe Bryant in Lakers History After Rockets Game

The Los Angeles Lakers have secured two massive wins over the past three days, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night and following up with a win against the Houston Rockets on Monday, with just seven games remaining in the NBA regular season.

Lakers' newest star, Luka Doncic, has seamlessly adjusted to his new team, and his performance throughout March has reflected that. In just a few months with the organization, Doncic has already earned a spot alongside the late Kobe Bryant, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest Lakers of all time.

According to StatMamba, Doncic not only set a franchise record for the most 3-pointers made in a single month (64) but also became the youngest Laker since Bryant in 2003 to average over 30 points per game in a month.

Throughout March, Doncic averaged 30.1 points, 8.6 assists, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.3 3-pointers per game, while shooting an impressive 40.5% from beyond the arc.

The Lakers, now 46-29 and holding the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, have two days off before facing another crucial showdown against the No. 6 seed Golden State Warriors.

This game carries significant playoff implications, as the top six seeds avoid the play-in tournament, and both the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves are just a few games behind, potentially pushing into the top four.

For the Lakers, while securing a spot above the play-in tournament is crucial, there's still an opportunity to move up the standings. They are just a short distance behind the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets for the No. 2 seed, which remains in play over the final stretch of games.
