Liverpool star Salah‘to leave Anfield this summer’

Liverpool will aim to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table by beating Everton on Wednesday night.

The Reds held a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal going into the programme of fixtures this week, and Arne Slot’s side are therefore overwhelming favourites to win the title with just nine games remaining.

Away from the action, the futures of three key players continue to dominate discussion surrounding the club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are all set to be out of contract this summer, and could therefore all depart Anfield as free agents at the end of the current campaign.

Now, according to a report in Spain, Salah is set to leave the club this summer.

As reported by Fichajes via TEAMtalk, Liverpool talisman Salah is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season as he ‘prepares for a change of scenery’.

Salah is set to make his 400th appearance for Liverpool before the end of the season

The 32-year-old joined the Reds from Serie A giants Roma in 2017 and has since established himself as one of the best players in the world.

In total the Egyptian has scored 243 goals and registered 110 assists in 392 games for the club across all competitions, as well as winning eight trophies including the Premier League and Champions League.

This season has been the forward’s most impressive to date, having registered a combined 54 goals and assists in 43 matches so far, including 27 goals and 17 assists in 29 Premier League games.

The report claims, however, that this season will be his last on Merseyside, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal set to make an ‘unprecedented effort to secure the Egypt international’s arrival’.

It is also claimed that the player himself has ‘expressed an interest in a possible transfer’, despite his importance to Slot’s side.
