Nottingham Forest have been dealt an injury blow during their Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Full-back Ola Aina was forced off in the 39th minute at the City Ground and headed straight down the tunnel. The Nigeria international seemed to twist something and went down requiring treatment.
He was replaced by Aston Villa loanee Alex Moreno. Fellow defender Morato came on at the same time, in place of Danilo - although that appeared to be a tactical switch.
The Reds were already without winger Callum Hudson-Odoi (personal matter) and striker Chris Wood (injured) on the banks of the Trent. But it had taken them just five minutes to open the scoring.
Anthony Elanga ran 70 yards to score against his former club in the fifth minute at the City Ground. It was his fifth goal of the season for Forest.
The Reds went into their midweek game in high spirits after booking their place in the FA Cup semi-finals at the weekend. They saw off Brighton and Hove Albion on penalties on the south coast to set up a last-four meeting with Manchester City at Wembley next month.
But Forest are well aware they cannot think about that trip to the capital just yet as they still have a big job to do in the league, and it starts this evening. Clinching Champions League qualification is the considerable carrot dangling in front of Nuno’s men as they approach the final nine games of the league campaign.
