The Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins are waiting on the decision of a 38-year-old defensive end. The Ravens and Dolphins are expected to be playoff contenders in 2025, and they could use a veteran pass rusher on the cheap who wants to ring chase.
The Dolphins had that last season when they signed Calais Campbell to a one-year contract worth $2 million.
Campbell rewarded Miami with 52 tackles and five sacks. However, the Dolphins failed to reach the playoffs in a competitive AFC after Tua Tagovailoa missed part of the season when he was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion.

Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are in discussions with offensive tackle Terron Armstead and Campbell about returning in 2025. Campbell is choosing between the Dolphins, the Ravens, and retirement.
“Calais, specifically, is in a unique situation where he’s assessing multiple options as a player in the 45th year of his career,” McDaniel said on Monday at the annual league meeting.
McDaniel thinks he can play at a high level in his 18th season in the league.
“There’s a lot in play in that, in regard to, your play is high, you’re excited to play another year,” McDaniel said. “He’s assessing those options, and he was a very important player to the team last year. I see him having the opportunity to be a very important player on the team this year.”

Campbell was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2008 draft. He’s earned three All-Pro honors and has made the Pro Bowl six times. He last made the Pro Bowl in 2020 when he played for the Ravens.
Campbell has some time to sort out his feelings, but the draft might complicate things. The Ravens and Dolphins could add pass rushers in a draft that is deep in the trenches.
Campbell has 917 tackles, 110.5 sacks, and 18 forced fumbles in his 17-year NFL career.
