NBA Announces Big Draymond Green News on Tuesday

The Golden State Warriors wrapped up March with an 11-4 record. With just eight games remaining in the regular season, they look to climb higher in the Western Conference standings, currently sitting just half a game behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the fifth seed. The Warriors and Grizzlies will meet on Tuesday night in a pivotal matchup.

In other news, the NBA announced a big honor for Warriors star Draymond Green just hours before the game. He was named NBA Defensive Player of the Month for March in the Western Conference, alongside Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels, who earned the same honor for the Eastern Conference.

"The Kia NBA Defensive Players of the Month for March! #KiaDPOTM," the NBA wrote.

Green had some strong offensive performances in March, with notable point totals of 16, 23, 21, and 14. However, it was his 1.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game that really stood out.

He posted several games with four steals and even had a standout performance with five blocks in one game.

This isn't surprising coming from the four-time NBA champion. In Green's 13-year NBA career, he's been named to the All-Defensive Team on eight separate occasions. He also won NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Entering Tuesday night, the 35-year-old has averaged 9.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.
