Pena’s relationship with Flick at Barca is ‘completely broken’

Inaki Pena is having a tough time at Barcelona this season after losing his spot in the first team following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury.

The 26-year-old did take over after Ter Stegen was ruled out for the long term with a serious injury but subsequently lost his place to Wojciech Szczęsny.

Pena hasn’t featured since January for Barcelona and, with Ter Stegen now back in training, may have already played his last game for the club.

The goalkeeper’s relationship with Flick has been described as being “completely broken” by journalist David Ibanez who watched the duo in training on Tuesday.

Ibanez noted how the two didn’t speak to each other during the session and adds that Inaki is “very affected” by the situation.

It’s also pointed out that Pena was missing this weekend when the players celebrated Eric Garcia’s 100th appearance for Barcelona.

The whole squad posed for a photo - including injured stars Ter Stegen and Marc Casado - but Pena (and fellow outcast Ansu Fati) were not in attendance.
