The GIGABYTE B550 EAGLE WIFI 6 supports a wide range of CPUs right out of the box. That includes powerful models like the 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X and the long-time gaming favorite, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Most budget tier boards do as well, but there's usually an asterisk when it comes to supporting the higher TDP models. The B550 EAGLE WIFI6 includes a capable VRM and cooling apparatus to ensure the most powerful AM4 processors run without a hitch.
Higher TDP models require a capable VRM design, and the B550 EAGLE WIFI 6 includes a 10+3+1 phase digital VRM design. That includes ten phases for the CPU cores and three for the SoC, which incorporates the integrated GPU and memory controller. Although the board supports the latest Ryzen AM4 CPUs from the very first BIOS release, AMD still released new AM4 CPUs in 2024, and it's possible it will release more models in the future. Having this feature means BIOS support for future CPU models can be added without requiring a currently available CPU. B550 is well worth it

The B550 EAGLE WIFI features a single HDMI 2.1 port on the back panel. This can be used with Ryzen G series processors. Though graphics specifications vary according to the CPU, this port allows 4K at 60Hz with HDR and FreeSync variable refresh rate support. Although the gaming performance of Radeon Vega graphics won't allow you to play modern titles with things like ray tracing enabled, having FreeSync over HDMI 2.1 will benefit players of esport titles or older games that don't require the grunt of a discrete graphics card.
