NFL Announces Outrageous View Amid Delay on Eagles ‘Tush Push’ Ruling

At this week's owners meetings, there was a proposal to ban the Philadelphia Eagles' version of the quarterback sneak once and for all after they perfected it in such a way that they completed the play at a stunning 90% success rate over three years.

Now that the rule is under debate, though, there is a growing group around the league who want to see the play taken out altogether.

And one of them is on the competition committee.

On Tuesday afternoon, Competition Committee Co-Chairman and Atlanta Falcons CEO Rich McKay explained the rationale behind the - an argument that's been tabled until the next league meetings in May.

"I would definitely say there are some people that have health and safety concerns, but there's just as many people that have football concerns," McKay said. "It was much more about the play, the aesthetics of the play. Is it what football has been traditionally or is it more of a rugby play?"

The league has issued very clear why they want the Tush Push out. ... and in our opinion it is an outrageous view.

They don't like the look of the play. It's "ugly.''

That's it. And that's outrageous.

Forget the injury concerns - if the league was really worried about that, they wouldn't be pushing for an 18th regular-season game.

And again, the injury concerns, according to hard data, are bogus.

No, the fact of the matter is the play isn't pretty enough for some in this modern passing offense era. And some around the league won't stand for it - especially when its success ... ugly or not ... isn't easily replicated elsewhere.
