The Greensboro Swarm's historic season came to an end on Tuesday as they fell 120-110 to the Indiana Mad Ants in their first-ever NBA G-League playoff appearance.
Despite a strong individual showing from several players, Greensboro could not overcome a slow start and hot shooting from Indiana. Keyontae Johnson led the way for the Swarm with 27 points on 12-of-21 shooting, while Jaylen Sims chipped in 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Marcus Garrett added 18 points, and Joel Soriano contributed nine points and a career-high 17 rebounds off the bench.
Indiana controlled much of the game, using a 16-4 run between the first and second quarters to seize a double-digit lead. Greensboro struggled from behind the arc, making just 2-of-13 in the first half. Despite their shooting woes, the Swarm stayed competitive throughout the game.
However, the Mad Ants' offense proved too much. Indiana shot 54% from the field and 43% from three, powered by Quenton Jackson's 34 points and nine assists. RayJ Dennis and Johnny Furphy each poured in 25 points. Greensboro's late rally cut the lead to just eight points with under three minutes left, but the Mad Ants fend off the Swarm.
The season ends on a bittersweet note for Greensboro, as they not only reached the playoffs for the first time. But they also proved they can compete at the next level
