Jayson Tatum Reacts to Celtics Teammate Making History

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White hit his 246th three against the Memphis Grizzlies, which sets a franchise record for most threes by a player in a single season. A record previously held by Isaiah Thomas in 2017.

White's evolution as a three-point shooter has been nothing short of amazing, given that he was not known for his floor spacing when the Celtics acquired him from the San Antonio Spurs three years ago. Now, he's become among the best dead-eye three-point shooters in the NBA, and this has played a big part in the Celtics' success over the past few seasons.

Among those who wanted to celebrate White's accomplishment was Jayson Tatum. After White broke the record, Tatum took to his personal Instagram to shout out his Celtics teammate.

On his Instagram story, Tatum shared a picture of him and White with the caption "3pt ," insinuating that he was the three-point King, which Daniel Donabedian posted via his X account.

Even though White has broken the record, Tatum isn't too far behind him in three-pointers made. While White has 247 three-pointers made, Tatum has 240, per NBA.com. Tatum has also played in three fewer games than White has this season. If that's not enough, Payton Pritchard is right behind them with 238 threes.

White has also committed to the Celtics long-term with his new extension, so there's no telling if he could surpass himself over the next few seasons. Since Tatum will be by White's side during that time, he could beat White's record by next season.
