Liverpool will look to bounce back from their many disappointments before the international break when they welcome Everton to Anfield this Wednesday.

The Reds face their Merseyside rivals at home, with the game scheduled for 8pm BST kick-off.

The game presents Liverpool with the chance to maintain their 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, as they continue their march towards a 20th league title.

Meanwhile, Everton, who have hit improved form since David Moyes arrived at the club, will aim to cement their mid-table resurgence and disrupt their neighbors’ charge.

The two sides’ last meeting in February 2025 delivered one of the most dramatic chapters in derby history.

James Tarkowski volleyed a 98th-minute equalizer at Goodison Park to snatch a 2-2 draw, sparking a pitch invasion and post-match brawl that saw four red cards issued, including to Liverpool manager Arne Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff.

Liverpool and Slot will be confident of getting the result they require here, given that they are currently on a 25-game unbeaten run in the league (W19, D2).

Fans also have good reason to be confident of a good result, considering that Liverpool have lost just one of the last 27 Merseyside derbies at Anfield (W16, D10). They have also lost just one of the last 27 Merseyside derbies at Anfield (W16, D10), while Moyes’ run of 19 games at Anfield without a win suggests that it will be another tough outing for the Toffees.

That said, Liverpool may be unable to call upon some players when they take on Everton.

Slot provided fitness updates on his stars, including Alisson, Ryan Gravenberch, Conor Bradley and Trent Alexander-Arnold, during his pre-match press conference.

Speaking about Gravenberch and Alisson, who both returned early to Liverpool during the break, the head coach said: “Ryan is OK, although we have to train one more time, but he is OK. Ali trained with us as well. The last check has to be made, I think that’s this afternoon after the session, [to determine] if he is available to play.

Speaking about Bradley, who has been out since February, Slot said:

“Conor is training with us again, but we have to make a decision on whether he is playing and if playing means coming in or starting. That’s something I keep for myself.

“But he’s only had a few sessions after being out for quite a long time with a repetitive injury, so we have to make a smart decision with that as well.”

Alexander Arnold remains sidelined, though, while Joe Gomez is back to light training. But both players won’t be available for the game on Wednesday.

With that in mind, here is our predicted lineup for the game at Anfield.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson, Quansah, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Diaz, Jota.
