Howie Boldly Promises More Moves for ‘Incomplete’ Eagles

Even in an offseason in which the Philadelphia Eagles have remained relatively quiet, general manager Howie Roseman has built up a reputation that has made him one of the most feared executives in football.

Even when the team's biggest signings happen to be role players or perceived backups, the Eagles are always a threat to add talented individuals to their roster.

Speaking at league meetings this week, Roseman made it abundantly clear that the team wasn't remotely done - even after the Draft.

"We're incomplete right now," Roseman said. "You know, there's no doubt about it. Talent acquisition season has just started, and it goes for a long time, and we continue to try to find any possible ways to upgrade the depth and talent level on our team.

"Again, it just looks different than maybe it looked last year, when a big focus on that was probably in the free agent market. But being able to re-sign your own players...those are part of what we're trying to do to get out in front of things. Obviously, when you lose good players, you want to replace them. And we'll continue to look at ways."

Philadelphia has shown they can be just as lethal in free agency after the draft than before it. During the 2022 offseason, both Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and James Bradberry were added to the team following the Draft.

The Eagles reached the Super Bowl that year.

So while the team may be considered keeping their free agent cuboards barren, that may not be the case for long.

So long as Roseman is running the show at least.
