Chris Paul of the San Antonio Spurs isn't the dynamic player he was several years ago when he was considered arguably the best point guard in the NBA. But he remains an effective floor general, even at age 39.
He will turn 40 years of age next month, and while his Spurs almost certainly will not even reach the play-in tournament this spring, he may have at least one more decent season left in him.
San Antonio hosted the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, and Paul moved into 15th on the NBA's list of career games played by surpassing the late great Kobe Bryant.

Coming into Tuesday, Paul was averaging 8.7 points and 7.6 assists a game while shooting 38.4% from 3-point range. He isn't a scoring threat anymore, but he can still stroke it from downtown when needed.
He came to the Spurs last offseason, and when they acquired star guard De'Aaron Fox in a big midseason trade, it looked like they would reach the play-in tournament and perhaps even become the type of team no one wanted to face there.
Unfortunately, Victor Wembanyama was shut down for the season due to a blood clot, and Fox suffered a finger injury that required surgery, prematurely ending his season.
