Former NFL QB has High Praise for Cam Ward Ahead of Draft

The quarterback position is the most important position on the field and few have played QB over a career as well as former Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward.

At 6-foot-1 and 219 pounds, Ward is not your prototypical NFL quarterback. But that will not stop NFL teams from listing Ward on their draft boards as the presumed No. 1 overall pick.

Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck had this to say about Ward and his potential fit with the Tennessee Titans, who hold the first overall pick in this month's NFL Draft,

"I do because I think that when you look at him from his days in college, he is going to leave there with nearly 2400 pass attempts," Tim Hasselbeck said on NFL Live. " For a little perspective on it, Anthony Richardson left college with about 390. In terms of time on task, the player the toughest position in sports, there is a lot of evidence of Cam Ward making the people around him better."

Ward passed for over 4,000 yards and 39 touchdowns for the Hurricanes last season. In addition, he was a Heisman finalist and set the NCAA career record for touchdown passes with 158 against only 37 interceptions. Ward has 57 games of college experience and has a career completion percentage of 65 percent.

"There is also evidence showing that he is an elite thrower," Hasselbeck said. "I think when you look at Brian Callahan, what they want to do in Tennessee in terms of how they are going to build it, and how they are going to build it with the offensive line, and what they are going to do with the offense, and his confidence in the ability to coach the position, yeah I do think [Ward in Tennessee] is a good fit."---Former NFL QB Tim Hasselbeck

Ward is an elite player at the position. It will be an immediate upgrade to whichever team drafts him. With a lot of production and a lot of football games played, Ward has the skills and the experience at the position to make his new teammates better in 2025.
