Ja Morant appears to do gun gesture during game

Ja Morant was at it again on Tuesday, and that’s not a good thing.

Morant appeared to mimic firing a shotgun at the Golden State Warriors’ bench towards the end of Tuesday’s game between the Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. Morant held up his arms extended as if he were pointing a shotgun at the Warriors. Buddy Hield saw it and did it back, while Draymond Green also saw it and mimicked the gesture to complain to the officials.

Ja Morant holds out his arms

Morant’s Grizzlies lost the game 134-125 as Steph Curry scored 52 points. Morant had 36 in the defeat.

Of course, the gesture itself isn’t just problematic, but it’s made even worse by who did it.

Morant has been accused of bringing out a gun to threaten a boy who was playing basketball at his house. He was suspended 8 games in March 2023 after being shown with a gun on social media. Then in June 2023, he was suspended 25 games after flashing a gun in another social media video.

As if all that weren’t enough, Morant did a gun celebration after throwing down an alley-oop in December 2023. Be prepared for the NBA to weigh in on Morant’s latest behavior.
