Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz game preview

Tonight marks what will likely be the final game of the season in which the Houston Rockets are favored. Unfortunately, it comes against a Utah Jazz team that has played extremely well against Houston in both matchups this season in Salt Lake City.

Houston needs tonight’s win to stay ahead of the oncoming Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers. However, Houston is comfortably in position to have homecourt advantage in their first round series. Tonight, they can clinch a playoff berth, and soon after could wrap up the Southwest Division for the first time since 2020.

The Jazz are tied with the Wizards for the fewest wins in the NBA this season, so they’re certainly in no hurry to win another game. However, they’ve beaten the Rockets and played them close in the second matchup, so there is something about Houston that makes them try and play much better than they do against anyone else. They even found a way to lose to Charlotte on Monday night. That was the last of their winnable games on paper.

We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
