As the race to join Chelsea in the Premier League next season continues to hot up, a former Chelsea star has taken his club from nowhere to be serious contenders for promotion.
Frank Lampard has enjoyed a tremendous start to life as Coventry City manager, with them currently sitting fifth in the table and amongst the play-off contenders.
Chelsea fans have been delighted for Lampard after things did not work out for him last time he was at Stamford Bridge. The club legend was in the enviable position of trying to pick up the pieces from Graham Potter’s nightmare spell at the club.
Lampard has set records since joining the Sky Blues, including picking up eight wins in nine games earlier this year, something they have not achieved in more than half a century.
Some Blues supporters have even called for Lampard to be Chelsea’s next manager, which would make him a three-time head coach at Stamford Bridge after his far more successful first spell at the club.
