Nikola Jokic in NBA action for the Denver Nuggets, where he broke the triple-double scoring record.
Nikola Jokic continues to raise his own bar in basketball stardom, as he set a new NBA record on Monday (1 April) night.
The Serbian star produced a triple-double performance for the Denver Nuggets, though it was not enough to stop them falling to a 140-139 double overtime defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Jokic recorded double figures across the board with 61 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, a match in which he played over 52 of the 58 possible minutes, including two periods of overtime to decide a winner.
The two-time Olympic medallist is in pursuit of a fourth MVP award and a second NBA title in two years, as the Nuggets sit third in the Western Conference.
Anthony Edwards exclaimed in the locker room post-match, "That might have been the best game of my life that I've been a part of. Nikola Jokic...He might be the best basketball player I've ever seen close-up, besides myself to myself. He's incredible. The MVP race is done..he hit 60!”
