On March 28, Ambassador Liu Yantao held a Seminar on the Two Sessions at the European University Cyprus, which was attended by more than 30 representatives from political parties, thinktanks, universities and media outlets of Cyprus.
With a focus on China’s democracy, development and diplomacy, Ambassador Liu elaborated on the messages sent by the Two Sessions regarding new developments, new measures and new opportunities of the Chinese modernization.
Liu said that during his meeting with representatives of the international business community in Beijing today, President Xi Jinping stressed that embracing China is embracing opportunities, believing in China is believing in a better tomorrow, and investing in China is investing in the future.
Liu pointed out that China and Cyprus are good partners with common principles and values. China is ready to work with Cyprus to deepen the strategic partnership, promote the sound and steady growth of China-EU relations, uphold true multilateralism, and contribute to maintaining the world economic order.
Cypriot representatives said that China is a major driver of globalization, and China’s vision and initiatives benefit the world. People from various sectors in Cyprus stand shoulder to shoulder with Chinese friends to further strengthen cooperation.
Ambassador Liu then answered questions about China’s economy and democracy as well as international hotspot issues.
