Newcastle United are determined to keep Alexander Isak away from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
The speculation over the 25-year-old’s Newcastle United future refuses to go away. It is frustrating for the Toon Army, but it is something they will just have to get used to.
Some of the biggest clubs in the world want to sign Alexander Isak. That is a testament to his ability, with the Swedish striker boasting 23 goals in all competitions this season.
As for Newcastle, they want to extend Isak’s contract. While he currently has a deal until 2028, Newcastle want to increase Isak’s wages and make him their highest paid player.

When Newcastle United plan to hold contract talks with Alexander Isak
Toon officials are set to sit down with Isak and his representatives to discuss a new deal, but those talks are not imminent.
That is according to the Athletic, who state that Newcastle United will open negotiations with Isak at the end of the season once they know whether or not they will be in the Champions League next season.
The Athletic add that Newcastle’s ‘message’ on Isak’s contract situation has not changed, with talks scheduled once the Magpies’ European fate is determined.

Alexander Isak’s sell-on clause
No matter what happens, Newcastle are going to command a huge fee for Isak.
The Magpies are in a strong position. There are so many clubs in the market for a striker, but there are not many elite options like Isak.
With the number of goals he has scored and the length of time still on his Newcastle United contract, Isak is incredibly valuable.
When valuing Isak, Newcastle will also factor in the fact that they will not receive the entire sum should they opt to sell the Swede.
It was reported by the Athletic in 2024 that Real Sociedad included a sell-on clause when they agreed to let Isak join Newcastle United in 2022. They state that the clause is worth 10%.
That will encourage Newcastle to increase their asking price further, and it could put the forward out of reach for any of his suitors. It has been claimed that Liverpool are unlikely to pay £150million for Isak.
