Manchester United are set to reinforce Ruben Amorim’s attacking ranks this summer after a campaign in which goals were hard to come by.
There are some vacancies inside the attacking midfield department at Manchester United this summer which need to be filled.
Departures of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford this summer leave Ruben Amorim with slim options as only Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee are options to occupy the two roles.
Due to this, United and Ruben Amorim are looking to recruit another option or two, with Francisco Trincao emerging as an option for United, among others.
Amorim could promote Jack Moorhouse to bolster the ranks as one option, but it seems a couple will be needed with a signing expected.
Now, the club are revisiting a deal for one long-term target.

Manchester United now reconsidering a swoop for Rayan Cherki
United have wanted Rayan Cherki since he was 15, however, off-field issues meant no big club made the move for the Frenchman. Now, United in Focus understands, after speaking with Graeme Bailey, that Cherki is now being considered again.
United are certainly one of the teams who are revisiting Cherki; they’re not alone. Lots of teams want to have another look at him. He could either be the next Eric Cantona or the next Nabil Fekir.

There’s never been any doubt about Cherki’s ability. He’s a mega talented player, but off the pitch, there have always been some doubts. But over the past three to six months, Cherki has really got his head down and that I think the clubs have noticed.
He went to the Olympics but didn’t play, and there was a bit of a realisation last summer with Cherki. In January, the clubs we were talking about, Palace, Everton, West Ham, that sort of level know, and he is better than that.
But with the off-field stuff, as it was a lot of clubs really held back. A lot of these Premier League clubs are now, not giving him a second chance, but revisiting the situation.
Cherki was obviously part of that game in Lorient, which United scouts watched him play really well. He was massive in that game and they were really impressed with what they saw.
United are looking at in terms of seeing is he too good not to look at again. So they are looking at the situation, and they’re being kept informed of it as with the clubs and that’s where we have with him.
Lyon will be looking for more of less £25m, but it could rise sightly. There is an agreement there that he will leave this summer.
Rayan Cherki will have been impressing Manchester United this season
Despite any fears about Cherki’s attitude or work rate, there is no doubting that he is a sensational footballer with technical ability which could see him become a superstar.
Cherki has tallied up eight goals and 18 assists for Lyon this season – which presents United with a real threat in the Europa League quarter-final. While, for France’s U21 side, he has scored 13 and assisted nine in 23 games so far.
As a player, Cherki is uber-creative and seems to have found consistency with his ability in the final third, which sees clubs keen to take a chance on him once again.
Signing Cherki would go one of two ways: he will be a sensation and revolutionize the club with his magic, or go the same way others before him have gone and flop.
But there is no way United cannot be impressed by his talents going forward.
