Player struggling after rejected Wolves offer – Club facing ‘conundrum’ about future

Towards the end of the winter transfer window, there were reports that Wolves had made a late attempt to sign Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen.

This was all but confirmed by the player himself, who stated that he had more things to do in Udinese before seeking an exit.

It now seems as if since the Wolves approach was sent back, Kristensen hasn’t had a great time in the Serie A.

Messaggero Veneto have looked at the Dane’s situation in some detail today and they state that March wasn’t a great month for the centre-back, who struggled in a league clash against Inter Milan at the weekend. He didn’t give a great account of himself against Lazio either.

The outlet notes that Kristensen has failed to impress in a back four and in a back-three, having also been employed as a full-back and a wide centre-back so far over the last two months.

He is committing major errors and his situation now presents a ‘conundrum’ for Udinese, who might be regretting not selling the defender to Wolves.

The report states that AC Milan and Juventus have already tested the waters for the 23-year-old and they also reiterate that Vitor Pereira’s side come calling in January.

Udinese now have a decision to make and the next few months can decide Kristensen’s fate.
