The Energy Workforce & Technology Council is excited to announce Jerry Jones, Owner, President and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys and majority shareholder of Comstock Resources, as a 2025 Platinum Award recipient. The Platinum Award is the Council’s highest honor, recognizing a lifetime of achievement, leadership, and impact in the oil and gas industry.
We are honored to have two legendary industry leaders, Continental Resources Executive Chairman Harold Hamm and Comstock Resources CEO M. Jay Allison, deliver introductory remarks in celebration of Jerry’s achievements and lasting legacy in energy. The award will be presented during the Welcome Reception, sponsored by Upright Digital.
Jones joins previously announced honoree Scott Sheffield, former CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources, as one of two recipients of the Council’s most prestigious award this year. Jones and Sheffield join the ranks of past recipients, including Andrew Gould, Harold Hamm, Mike Pompeo, and Merrill A. “Pete” Miller.
A prominent figure in both American sports and energy, Jerry Jones has deep roots in the oil and gas industry dating back to the early days of his career in Arkansas and Texas. He is currently the majority shareholder of Comstock Resources, a leading natural gas producer focused on the Haynesville Shale in North Louisiana and East Texas. His investment of more than $1 billion in Comstock has fueled the company’s growth and reinforced his commitment to advancing U.S. energy production.
In addition to his business leadership, Jones recently appeared in the series Landman, showcasing the grit, innovation, and people that power America’s energy story. His role as both a cultural and industrial ambassador underscores the vital role energy plays in driving our nation’s economy and security.
“Jerry Jones represents the bold, entrepreneurial spirit that has long defined American energy,” said EWTC President Molly Determan. “His leadership at Comstock Resources and enduring commitment to the success of domestic oil and gas make him a deserving recipient of the 2025 Platinum Award. We’re proud to recognize his influence and his contributions to our industry.”
The 2025 Platinum Award will be presented at the Energy Workforce & Technology Council’s Annual Meeting in Frisco, Texas on April 9th. EWTC Member companies are encouraged to register here.
