CLEVELAND, Ohio — So far this offseason, there isn’t much to the Cleveland Browns quarterback room. It only has two occupants; recent arrival Kenny Pickett and currently injured Deshaun Watson. Cleveland almost certainly will use the NFL Draft to pick up at least one QB, maybe as high as No. 2 overall.
Meanwhile, Pickett arrived a couple of weeks ago from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The Browns promised Pickett a chance to compete for the starting job despite having an unimpressive resume to this point. Pickett could even end up being Cleveland’s bridge QB, although there is still a possibility the Browns will bring in a more experienced veteran for that job.
As for Watson, it’s unlikely he will be healthy enough to be a factor at QB this season. Also, with the Haslams admitting they swung and missed on acquiring Watson in the first place, Watson may be done in Cleveland.
