Manchester City ‘even more serious’ about player – Contact made to beat PL rivals

Last weekend, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg stated Manchester City have entered the race for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson and held initial talks.

Manchester City signed Omar Marmoush from the Bundesliga club in January and plan to return in the summer window for the midfielder.

Bild state Manchester City have ‘already expressed’ interest in the 20-year-old, who has impressed this season.

His impressive performances have seen Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, AC Milan and Real Madrid all sent their scouts to follow him closely. Manchester City, however, are ‘even more serious’ than other clubs about the Sweden international.

Kevin de Bruyne and İlkay Gündoğan both have their contracts expiring in June. The Citizens would have to bring in replacements and Larsson could be an option.

Eintracht Frankfurt are expecting to earn big from Hugo Ekitiké’s sale and face a threat of losing the Swede, probably because of Manchester City’s keen interest.

Bild claim Larsson finds it difficult to cope with high demands and at times struggles with fitness. His club believe he’ll benefit by staying with them for another season.

Larsson feels comfortable at Eintracht Frankfurt and has a potential to be an ‘absolute world class player’. Bild claim the German club will find it ‘very difficult’ to retain him if they were to receive an important offer from Manchester City or another club.
