Chelsea boss Maresca quizzed on Sancho’s future

**Enzo Maresca has given an non-committal response when asked about Jadon Sancho’s future.**

Chelsea [**signed the winger on a season-long loan**](https://www.westlondonsport.com/sport/sterling-joins-arsenal-as-chelsea-sign-sancho) from Manchester United last summer with an obligation to buy him at the end of the campaign.

The club appear to be having doubts about the deal, with Sancho having flattered to deceive since arriving in west London.

Chelsea would have to pay United £5m in compensation if they decide not to go ahead with the permanent transfer.

Blues head coach Maresca was quizzed about the issue at a news conference on the eve of the London derby against rivals Tottenham.

The Italian replied: “All the players that are with us, I love all of them. But at this moment, it (the priority) is to finish (the season) well and I am completely focused on that.

“All the ones I have here, I want them to want to be here. What happens in the summer, we will see.”

Sancho, who recently turned 25, has started 16 Premier League matches this season.

He made [**a promising start**](https://www.westlondonsport.com/chelsea/maresca-hails-very-important-sancho-after-chelsea-win) to his loan spell but his form has since dipped.

“His situation does not change – it is exactly the same,” Maresca insisted.

“He can do better in terms of numbers, no doubt, but it is not only Jadon.

“He needs to continue to give his best. That is what we want from Jadon.”
