Bruno Fernandes delivered a captain’s performance for Manchester United in a lost battle against Nottingham Forest in the away game. The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Nottingham at City Ground Stadium on Tuesday evening despite dominating most of the match.

The Red Devils could take the positives out of the Nottingham game, despite the loss, as they dominated the hosts. United had 68% of the overall possession along with 23 shots with six on target compared to Nottingham’s eight shots with two on target.
According to Fotmob, Fernandes created the most chances (six) in the match but his teammates failed to capitalize on them. The 30-year-old had 79% passing accuracy during the game with a total of 76 passes against the Tricky Trees.
The Portuguese international also had two out of five successful dribbles, playing four accurate crosses and seven accurate long balls. Furthermore, he had 110 touches with one coming inside the opposition box, showcasing his desire to exploit the channels.
Furthermore, the 30-year-old won seven out of 17 total duels against a physically formidable team, winning two fouls. Defensively, Fernandes won two out of three tackles and made one clearance and one clearance through a header.
He made 11 recoveries and completed seven defensive actions, putting in an all-round effort to help his team. While Fernandes failed in his quest to help United secure points during the evening, his performances are promising and inspirational.
