Creative Armenia: EU-funded Katapult programme presents its achievements
On 31 March, the final event of the EU-funded Katapult Creative Accelerator Programme took place in the Armenian capital Yerevan.
The project, launched in 2022, was implemented by AGBU in partnership with Creative Armenia.
The programme aimed to empower creative professionals with education, entrepreneurial skills and visibility, and to bridge gaps in existing support services, technology, institutions and infrastructure to ensure a sustainable cultural industry.
The initiative supported 135 creative professionals, provided 100 sub-grants, helped to create 260 jobs, strengthened 15 institutions, organised three international pavilions (Yerevan, Brussels, Barcelona), produced four studies and strategies, and organised the ASA Forum.
“KATAPULT has proved that creativity is more than art – it is a powerful engine for economic growth and social cohesion,” Vassilis Maragos, EU Ambassador to Armenia, said at the closing event. “Culture is not solely rooted in heritage; the hundreds of creators who participated in the project proved it is living, collaborative, inclusive, innovative. Culture is a shared legacy that unites generations and fosters hope.”
