Paraag Marathe and Andrew Cavenagh are getting ever closer to completing their takeover of Rangers.

With the 49ers Enterprises also involved, it is said the Americans could have legal approval by the end of April, before finalising and announcing the change of ownership.

Rangers are preparing for a new era at Ibrox, with Barry Ferguson in interim charge, awaiting news on the permanent role moving forward.

Huge takeover news at Rangers

Dan Plumley admits that legal approval coming before the end of April would be quicker than he initially expected, saying it would be “huge news”.

The finance expert insists the Americans look likely to get all the approval needed in Glasgow, with everybody involved wanting it done.

“It would be,” Plumley exclusively told Ibrox News.

“It’s probably quicker than I would have expected, if we cast our minds back a few weeks, if it does get to the stage where they’re at the place in April, that’s a really quick turnaround in the context of where these takeovers seem to land.

“Let’s wait and see, but it seems to be moving ahead at a pace and seems to be mostly positive from what I’ve seen in terms of getting this deal done, and everybody connected is wanting to get this deal done.

“It looks likely to happen, and that would be huge news for the club if they do get over that legal hurdle and can kick on by the end of April.”

Marathe and Cavenagh push on at Rangers

With Leeds currently seven games away from promotion to the Premier League, despite a sticky patch of form, Marathe and the 49ers are set for a busy month.

Cavenagh and his team could be pushing this deal along with Marathe having interests elsewhere, but it finally looks set to happen for Rangers.
