Jets Scouting Report on QB Justin Fields Reveals ‘Dynamic’ Key

The New York Jets will be going forward with Justin Fields as their starter for 2025, with the former first-round pick tasked with leading the organization in the post-Aaron Rodgers era.

But as things stand, Fields doesn't have too much help around him aside from Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, which is why in a lot of mock drafts, the Jets take a receiver or tight end, Tyler Warren, in the first round.

So it is clear that Fields needs more help around him as he looks to hit the ground running in his first season as a Jet, and as it turns out, head coach Aaron Glenn has a plan to maximize Justin's talents.

"Obviously we want to utilize his legs, but we also want him to play quarterback," Glenn said via newyorkjets.com. "This offseason, we're going to allow him during OTAs to go out there and run an offense. We're going to make sure we're going to surround him with the right type of people that's going to make him successful. I think he's a dynamic player and I think there's more that we can get out of that player and I'm looking forward to that."

So Glenn and the Jets see some untapped potential in Fields, who, as a high draft pick, hasn't lived up to the billing yet, but Glenn feels he can bring the best out of Justin under his guidance.

What that looks like in 2025 is unknown, but New York feels bullish on what Fields can do in Tanner Engstrand's offense. Yes, more weapons are needed, and that will likely come via the draft or cherry picking some veteran free agents, but there is a confidence about what Fields can amount to as a Jet.

Granted, this is all talk right now, and the real proof will be how he fares with real NFL bullets flying, but everything we've heard about Fields in New York is positive.

And for a franchise in desperate need of positivity, having a quarterback the front office is excited about and truly believes in might see an improved output in 2025.
