What Josh Allen ‘Needs’ Addressed Frankly by Bills GM

The Buffalo Bills' offense was one of the best in football last season, with Josh Allen leading the "everybody eats" mantra en route to becoming NFL MVP.

But for most, there was a glaring need for a No. 1 receiver despite the offense averaging 30.9 points per game. Enter Josh Palmer from the Los Angeles Chargers, who will bring a speed element to Buffalo in 2025.

However, is there still a need for the front office to add another weapon for Allen?

"I wouldn't say needs, but we'll look for competition," general manager Brandon Beane said. "Our offense did pretty good last year. I think when you look across the board, I think what Joe Brady and Josh [Allen] and our offensive team did was pretty good. We like the addition of Josh Palmer to our group and feel like he's a guy that really fits what we like to do, another positionless wide receiver. Listen, there's still time to add more players, but am I sitting here going, man, we've got a hole there? No."

So, the Bills feel reasonably confident in the receiver room, which consists of Khalil Shakir, Palmer, Curtis Samuel, and Keon Coleman, along with tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.

There could be room to add another receiver, but as Beane stated, it would be for competition, not as a genuine star for the unit.

Keenan Allen and Tyler Lockett are still free agents, but the duo is likely to command a salary that Buffalo isn't willing to pay, which could leave the draft as a potential option.

Beane doesn't see the Bills as having a "need" at receiver, but if one falls into their lap in the draft? They might just take it.
