Forget beating West Ham, Jorgen Strand Larsen celebrates another ‘massive’ thing that just…

Jorgen Strand Larsen was Wolves’ match-winner for the second consecutive Premier League game.

Wolves beat West Ham 1-0 to earn back-to-back victories in the league, seeing the Old Gold move 12 points above the relegation zone.

The win saw Vitor Pereira mobbed by the Wolves squad at full-time, with a feeling of belief finally filling Molineux after a treacherous first half of the season.

Strand Larsen earned high praise for his performance against West Ham, as the Norwegian was Wolves’ match-winner again, just as he was against Southampton.

Jorgen Strand Larsen applauds ‘massive’ Wolves contracts

It’s been a much-needed few weeks of form for Strand Larsen, who was criticised not very long ago due to his isolation as a loan striker.

Matheus Cunha’s absence has seen the number nine play to his strengths, offering a glimpse of how the future could look for Wolves.

After the win against the Hammers, Strand Larsen spoke to Wolves’ official website, where he commented on more than just the victory.

The Norway international diverted attention from the match to some other good news that has happened at Wolves this week.

“It’s massive,” Strand Larsen said about Joao Gomes’ new contract.

“I think during the last two days, we signed [new contracts with] two great young players. Joao has played all season and has been fantastic – we need to keep him as long as we can.”

Gomes signed a new deal at Wolves just after it was announced that Yerson Mosquera had penned a new contract.

“And Yerson, he’s been injured, but the way he played before his injury was fantastic,” Strand Larsen said of Mosquera.

The Wolves striker ended by admitting his excitement ahead of next season as the trio hope to play together at the same time.

“Two great players, and I can’t wait for next season where hopefully they can both be on the pitch at the same time.”

Wolves are seeing what Strand Larsen can offer

Strand Larsen has his mind on next season with regard to linking back up with Mosquera, who has been injured since matchday five.

The Norwegian is delighted for his teammates, who will be equally as delighted for him.

Wolves’ number nine has had a season of difficult spells and high points, with his first campaign in the Premier League promising to end in double figures.

Against West Ham, Strand Larsen netted his tenth goal of the season, a favourable tally for his first taste of English football.

With Cunha ready to leave Wolves, the door to allow the squad to play to Strand Larsen’s strengths will be left marginally open, in what is an exciting time ahead for the 2024 arrival.
