The New England Patriots will be nominating people to the teams' Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 3rd, and one very deserving name was leaked to have already made the cut. Patriots owner Robert Kraft called legendary coach Bill Parcells with an offer to etch his name in Patriots history once again and join the franchise's Hall of Fame. He accepted the offer from Kraft and will now get to have his name immortalized by the organization he turned around. This was reported by Judy Battista, a reporter for NFL Network and a columnist for NFL.com.

Parcells joined the Patriots in 1993 taking over a team that went 2-14 the season before in 1992. New England was one of the worst franchises in the league at that time. Parcells had already won two Super Bowls in his previous tenure with the Giants and was the most storied head coach to ever join the Patriots.
In just his second season, the Patriots ended the season 10-6 and after starting the season 3-6, they ended the season on a seven-game win streak to make the playoffs for the first time since 1986. The Patriots would lose in the Wild Card round, but the shift in culture was evident.
The next season, the Patriots had a down season and went 6-10. However, this was just a hiccup, and Parcells responded by going 11-5 and winning the division. He then made Patriots history by winning the first two home playoff games in Patriots history, which led to them hosting the AFC Championship game for the first time in the team's history.
The Patriots would go on to lose in the Super Bowl but the fact that they were making history and in the Super Bowl meant more to the franchise and the city then people realize. Parcells was only the coach for the Patriots for four seasons from 1993-1996 but he turned that franchise around and set them up for years of success.
Parcells went 32-32 in his time with the Patriots during the regular season, and he went 2-2 in the playoffs. He turned one of the worst offenses in the league into one of the best and he made the Patriots a serious football franchise.
He deserves to be in the Patriots Hall of Fame and it is great that he is finally getting the nod. He turned the franchise around and set them up to be one of the greatest franchises ever. Without Parcells the Patriots would have been one of the worst teams for decades and they may have never ended up landing Bill Belichick or Tom Brady.
Congratulations to the Bill Parcells and his family and it will be a great day for Patriots fans, Patriots history, and the Patriots organization once they officially induct him.
