Report: Dream Jadon Sancho transfer could be on this summer as reunion with one of his biggest supporters on the cards

The situation around Jadon Sancho is set to be one of the most concerning for Manchester United heading into the summer.

When Chelsea took the problematic winger on loan last August, it was widely assumed that the Englishman’s time at Old Trafford was over.

Manchester United would have been delighted to see the back of him as he had no place at the club, and the £25m obligation to buy by Chelsea was a bonus.

However, after a pretty miserable season on loan for Chelsea, Jadon Sancho’s future is up in the air. It has since emerged that Chelsea can pay £5m to avoid buying Sancho, making it less of an obligation and more of an option.

Blues manager Enzo Maresca has been coy over Sancho’s future, claiming he wants to keep all his current players.

“I love all the players with us. In this moment, [the goal] it is to finish well and not think about next season. What happens in the summer, we will see. I am happy with all the players here.”

Now, it has emerged that Sancho could actually be eyeing a return to the only club he has shone for.

Borussia Dortmund are keen on re-signing Jadon Sancho

While there is a remote chance Chelsea will send Sancho back to United, one thing which is certain is that if he returns, the first thing Ineos will do is find him another exit.

Now, it has been reported by the Daily Mail that Dortmund are interested in signing Sancho for what would be a third time.

This would be in order to possibly replace Jamie Gittens, who United have been linked with in recent months. By selling Gittens, Dortmund would have the funds to make a move to sign Sancho from Old Trafford, however, Chelsea could also be expecting to sell Sancho if they make the loan permanent.

Sancho has long wanted a Dortmund return, and this summer, there is another factor which could help Sancho make the move.

Sancho could be reunited with Ralf Rangnick at Dortmund

Despite having a keen interest in a return to the Bundesliga, previous reports have suggested Dortmund would reject the chance to sign Sancho.

However, this doesn’t appear to be the case for Sancho, and Dortmund could soon have a familiar face in Germany.

Last week it was claimed by Sport1 that Ralf Rangnick could be set to join Dortmund as a manager and sporting director, which could be the reasoning behind a seeming renewed interest in the winger by Dortmund.

Rangnick has been one of the biggest supporters of Sancho, speaking out in support last January, as quoted by Metro.

“He had his best time in Dortmund, and, when he was healthy, he always played for me. However, he wasn’t as carefree as in Dortmund.

“But that was also due to the overall situation. When he was fit, he was set and did well under me.

“He no longer had a chance in Manchester. He now has to get back into a rhythm and really into shape in Dortmund. From his point of view, the change makes perfect sense.”

So, perhaps Rangnick would be keen to welcome him back to Dortmund and revitalise his career.
