Saka coming back from injury was a huge boost to Arsenal ahead of their Champions League tie against Real Madrid next week, however, star defender Gabriel was seen to suffer a hamstring injury which means he’s likely to miss the Madrid clash.
Mikel Arteta said after the game: “Gabi felt something in his hamstring. We don’t know how big that is.” He had to be substituted off after just 16 minutes for Jakub Kiwior, who will likely slot in as his replacement in the short term.

Mikel Arteta is simply not rotating enough, Gabriel and Saliba shouldn’t be starting every match.

Fellow Arsenal defender faces injury blow
Gabriel wasn’t the only Gunner that suffered an injury during the game against Fulham. Full-back Jurrien Timber was seen to suffer a knee injury and had to be replaced after 77 minutes, with Thomas Partey slotting into the right-back spot in place.
After the game, Arteta said: “With Jurrien as well, he was already struggling [with his knee] very early in the game. He managed to continue and at some point, he couldn’t, so, that’s the downside to it.”
Timber is currently being assessed alongside Gabriel, and it will now be a waiting game for Arsenal to see how long the pair will be side-lined for.
