Manchester City are fighting to reclaim a place in the Champions League next season, amidst a turbulent campaign.
The Citizens have relinquished their monopoly on the Premier League title with nothing more than a whimper.
Liverpool are cruising to claim the crown that has been won by City for the previous four seasons and the season has hinged on the loss of one player.
Rodri hasn’t played since September and losing him to a serious knee injury essentially ended any hopes of another Premier League title for Pep Guardiola.
With several months passing since his injury, fans are getting anxious over when he might return and the head coach has issued an update.

It could be better to get Rodri completely ready for next season, with City likely to make changes to the squad ready for another assault on the Premier League title.
The Spaniard has clearly been missed by City and now Guardiola has delivered the verdict on how the midfielder’s rehabilitation is going.
He told Super Sport: “Be patient, I would love to have him soon, but it was a tough injury. He’s already been out six months, six months and a half. It’s an injury for seven and a half, eight months, but step by step he’s starting to be with us, so that’s good.”
Manchester City without Rodri
When looking at the statistics, it’s easy to understand why City have struggled without Rodri.
The player is one of the best midfielders in world football and he’s been instrumental in the team’s dominance over the years.

It’s perhaps clichéd, but Rodri will be like a new signing next season, and for that reason, he shouldn’t be rushed back.
Guardiola has hinted that he’s back in some sort of training, but it will be important to tread with caution ahead of a huge campaign in 2025/26.
