Lucas Digne could be in for a tough night for Aston Villa as they travel to face Brighton on Wednesday.

The Villans are making a return to Premier League action 25 days after their last league outing in a win against Brentford.

Unai Emery is preparing his side for a trip to the south coast to face the Seagulls on 2 April in what could be a difficult clash to navigate.

It could prove to be a particularly hard night for Digne, who will face the brunt of Brighton’s attacking force at the Amex.

Yankuba Minteh could cause problems for Aston Villa

It is fair to say that Fabian Hurzeler has a raft of talent available to him at forward areas that could cause problems for the Villans.

Despite not scoring last time out against Nottingham Forest, it is fair to say that Minteh caught the eye with his performance on the right flank.

Even if that may be the case, the Gambia international was particularly useful defensively as he chipped in with five tackles and a further six defensive actions against the Reds.

The former Newcastle man also won nine duels on the day, which could ultimately cause problems for Digne at left-back for Villa.

Digne must be wary of Minteh at Brighton

The France international have bagged two assists last time out against Preston as Marcus Rashford and Jacob Ramsey got on the scoresheet.

Despite this, the 31-year-old completed just 17 per cent of his six attempted crosses but he may not be afforded that much time against Brighton.

Looking ahead to the clash at the Amex, Emery needs the left-back to be concise and make the most of the opportunity he gets.

The Spaniard will also be relying on the likes of Boubacar Kamara to cover for the defender when he gets forward, so as to not afford Minteh too much space.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the Villans get on, on the south coast, especially after the win against Preston just three days ago.
